For over thirty years, the volunteer-driven Mada Community Centre has been a beacon of hope, growing to become a leading source of food security.
Serving over 5,000 families annually, Mada offers meal delivery, a well-stocked food bank with essentials and fresh produce, and support and crisis services.
This comprehensive approach goes beyond addressing immediate needs, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Mada is more than food; it embodies acts of love, ensuring every individual's situation is met with tailored empathy and support.

In 2022, Mada embarked on a significant strategic development process, including the creation of an evolved brand identity. The new logo design proudly evokes the core and promise of the organization—rooted in chesed, a love and kindness that is central to all our actions and outcomes. Spreading kindness far and wide is part of the driving force behind the opening of two Mada satellite locations: in the West Island of Montreal and in Ottawa, our first out-of-province locale, in partnership with Chabad of Ottawa. Now serving dinners, delivering meals and proudly connecting with a broader community.
Thanks to an oversized refrigerated space, our clients in need can now choose from even more pallets of fresh, in-season fruits and vegetables every week. Given the rising cost of groceries, preparing nutritious meals at home just got easier and more accessible, as part of our weekly Chez Makolet foodbank services.
