marketing/social media assistant intern

Within the framework of “Skills digital technology for young people”, coordinated by Communautique, MADA is looking for a marketing/social media assistant intern! In this position, you will work directly with the Marketing Manager who will guide you in your tasks. The internship also includes a series of coordinated trainings by Communautique.
Founded in 1993, MADA is a volunteer-based organization that evolved from a small neighborhood center to Montreal’s central address for fighting poverty in our community. We provide our patrons with many social and crisis services free of charge, as well as serving as a safe haven for those in need.

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Support the Marketing Manager in daily administrative tasks as well as in the execution of marketing campaigns
• Help create written, video and image content for marketing channels
• Participate in marketing brainstorming sessions
• Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives
• Research and prepare social media posts: find quotes and photos online, assemble graphics, write captions, etc. and take pictures of volunteers
• Execute the schedule of approved social media posts
• Create WordPress blog posts and MailChimp emails for our weekly newsletter, suing pre-written content and established templates
• Set up Facebook ads in Facebooks Ads Manager for review
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
• 1-3 years relevant professional experience or relevant schooling
• Experience in social media strategy and management (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter)
• Experience with MailChimp, WordPress, Canva, Adobe Suite and Facebook Ads Manager is an asset
• Ability to take direction well and work collaboratively as well as independently
• Strong organizational and research skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Bilingual (English and French)

The intern must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the internship
• Have completed post-secondary studies
• Have the legal right to work in Canada
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
• Not receiving employment insurance (EI) benefits during the stage
• Self-assess as an underemployed, that is, they are employed below their level of education or in a part time job
• Not having already completed an internship as part of the Digital Skills for Young People program Career Objective component

Volunteer Coordinator for Seniors


  • Coordinate volunteer projects in person for seniors at MADA including preparation, packing, and delivering of meals all while respecting COVID protocols
  • Organize a collective kitchen, cooking and nutrition workshops virtually and in person
  • Organize remote volunteering for seniors in residences
  • Bilingual
  • Knowledge of the Jewish Community and Kosher laws
  • Dynamic personality, ability to connect with Seniors
  • Previous experience working with Seniors or in a Volunteering role
This is a 1 year position with possibility of permanence.
