Update: High Holidays at MADA

HIGH HOLIDAYS 2015

The sounds of happy conversation, singing and laughter spilled into the night during MADA’s festive Rosh Hashana dinners. They were held at 12 locations throughout the city on September 13 and 14. It was wonderful to see the rooms filled with about 2,500 people. The dinners provided many with the opportunity to celebrate Rosh Hashana with others in a family setting.

“It’s the unity and the feeling of togetherness that keeps me coming back to volunteer at MADA,” says Laurent Bensamama, one of the head servers and volunteer coordinators for this event. Adds Laurent, “At MADA the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s words, ‘Let no Jew be left behind,’ are really put into action.”

In addition to the Rosh Hashana dinners,

  • 2,000 Kosher holiday food baskets were delivered.
  • 1,750 meals were prepared for the Sukkot and Simchat Torah celebrations at MADA’s headquarters.
  • 5,250 holiday meals were prepared and will be delivered – with friendly visits – to patrons of our Shabbat to Share program during this holiday month.

To our supporters and volunteers, thank you so much! You made these projects possible!
Wishing you and yours an easy and meaningful Yom Kippur Fast.
